Odisha Teachers’ Eligibility Test cancelled after question paper leak

Cuttack: Lakhs of candidates were in for a shock on Wednesday morning when Board of Secondary Education (BSE) cancelled the Odisha Teachers’ Eligibility Test (OTET) on the day of the test, following leakage of question papers.

BSE President Jahan Ara Begum announced the cancellation of the examination after original question papers matched with the leaked papers that have gone viral on social media. She also ordered a probe into reports of leakage of question papers.

Terming the incident as unfortunate, the BSE president informed that the dates of re-examination will be intimated soon.

The OTET exam was scheduled to be conducted in two shifts today. While the first shift was from 10 am till 12.30 pm, the second shift was scheduled between 2 pm and 4.30 pm.

Nearly 1.12 lakh students were in for a shock when the BSE president announced cancelled the exam on the day of the test. The Board of Secondary Education conducts the OTET to enroll teachers from Class-I to Class-VIII. It is conducted in offline mode in two sets.
