Being an outsider I didn’t know Lingaraj temple’s phone ban norms: Raveena Tandon

Bhubaneswar: Hours after Lingaraj Temple authorities lodged an FIR against Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon for allegedly recording a video of herself on the mobile phone inside the 11th century shrine, Tondon has clarified she was unaware of the restriction on use of cell phones and cameras inside the shrine.

The incident came to the fore after a video went viral on social media featuring Tandon offering beauty tips inside the temple premises. She visited the prominent Shiv shrine on Sunday afternoon.

Clarifying the misunderstanding, she said to a national newspaper that she had no idea that she was being filmed while she was busy in giving her fitness regime and beauty tips on being asked by a fan inside the temple.

“The security did not stop me nor checked by handbag. However, the locals present on the spot, who were probably aware of the temple norms also did not stop others when they were filming me,” said Tandon to a national newspaper.

Meanwhile, basing on the complaint lodged at the Lingaraj Police Station, Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrat Bhoi said that the police are examining the allegations.

The Archaeological Survey of India has also launched an investigation into the matter.
