Over 5kg gold seized from NRI passengers at Bhubaneswar Airport

Bhubaneswar:  Less than a week after seizure of gold from the wheels of a trolley bag of a passenger at Biju Patnaik International Airport, another such incident came to light again.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized consignments of smuggled gold more than five kg worth around Rs 1.8 crore at the Airport today.

At least three NRI passengers have been detained for questioning.

According to reports, the three NRIs who arrived from Kuala Lumpur were reportedly carrying gold bars inside their shoes.

Notably, more than ten gold seizure cases have been reported in last two months at the city Airport.
