Cuttack: Odisha police has taken a novel initiative to eliminate social stigma like child torture. To make people aware on torture of child and minor girl, Odisha police to ply an awareness vehicle titled ‘Pari Ratha’ in villages and urban areas across the State.
It was informed by DGP Rajendra Prasad Sharma. The programme will be funded by UNICEF, he added.
The vehicle will move in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and other areas of the State. The campaign will begin from May 28 in which 15 ‘Pari Ratha’ vehicles will be engaged. The campaign vehicles will ply in the lane and by-lanes of the towns as well as rural areas in 30 districts. The ‘Rath’ will reach Bhubaneswar on June 12.
One vehicle having audio/video equipments will cover at least two districts a day.
