PCC chief lambasts CM for silence over minor rape cases

Bhubaneswar: PCC president Niranjan Patnaik today came down heavily on BJD-led State government over rising minor girls’ rape and woman exploitation cases.

At a press meet, Patnaik said rape cases are increasing day by day. But chief minister is not concerned about it. When the Opposition members are demanding a clarification from him, he is not turning up to reply. Patnaik alleged. Even the Speaker is also remaining silent on the matter.

Leader of Opposition raised the matter in the House today, but the government showed little interest to discuss on it, he maintained. Women in the State are unsafe now and government failed to take concrete measures for their safety, Patnaik added.

He said that Congress party will reach out to the people and sensitise them on these issues.

BJD is only doing a vote bank politics. It is shedding crocodile tear on Mahanadi issues. Only to grab votes, the regional party is holding mega rally over it, he alleged.
