Pulawama terror attack: Dharmendra visits kin of martyred CRPF jawan

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday met the family members of Manoj Kumar Behera, who was martyred on Thursday in a terrorist attack in Pulawama in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pradhan visited Ratanpur village in Niali in Cuttack district, the native place of the martyr and expressed his deep condolence to the family.

Two Odia CRPF jawans among nearly 40 CRPF jawans were martyred in a terror attack in Pulawama in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday afternoon.

Havildar Prasanna Kumar Sahu (CRPF 61 Battalion) of Shikhar village in Naugaon block of Jagatsinghpur district and Constable Manoj Kumar Behera of Ratanpur village under Niali area in Cuttack district among nearly 40 CRPF jawans were martyred on Thursday after an IED blast by terrorists struck a bus in which the jawans were travelling in near Goripora in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier in the day, the Union Minister told reporters that said the jawnas’ sacrifice won’t go in vain. The country will give them befitting reply, he added.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Patnaik also talked to the family members of the two martyrs over telephone and also directed Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera and Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena to visit the martyrs’ family.
