Bhubaneswar: Rising fuel prices has forced the State Government to hike fare of buses of different categories on Saturday.
Ordinary and express bus fares was increased by two paise per km, while the fares of deluxe and AC deluxe buses was hiked by four paise per km.
The State Transport Department has issued a notification to this effect today.
As per the revised price, ordinary bus will now charge Rs 72 paise per km, while express bus will charge Rs 75 paise. Deluxe bus will charge Rs 105 per km and AC Deluxe will take 127 paise per km.
The revised price will come into force today. The revised price will not be applicable for town buses.
Diesel is now being sold at Rs 78.74 in Bhubaneswar.
