Sandy wishes for Mahashivaratri, Valentine’s Day on Puri beach

Puri: Odisha’s renowned sand artists Sudarsan Pattnaik and Manas Sahoo have extended the wishes to the people on Mahashivaratri and Valentine’s Day in their own styles on the golden sea beact at Puri.

Padma Shree awardee Pattnaik has carved 108 sand Shiva Lingas at Puri beach on Tuesday on the occasion of Mahashivratri, popularly known as Jagar in Odisha.

While sharing the pictures of his sand sculpture on his twitter handle, Patnaik wrote, “On the occasion of Maha Shiva Ratri my SandArt of 108 Shiva Linga with message “Pray for World peace” to set a #NewRecord at Puri beach of Odisha.”

The sand art created by Patnaik, along with his students has became the centre of attraction for tourists.

Similarly, Sahoo has created a sand sculpture with the theme ‘I Love India’ to wish people on Valentine’s Day near Light House on Puri sea beach on Wednesday.

He has carved to sand art to spread the messsge of love for the country.

Sahoo believes that the day is not only meant for the love that the couples of young generation share but it also the day which can be dedicated to one’s love for his nation.

The 17-feet-wide sand art has been built with use of 25 tonnes of sand and it took at least 30 hours for Sahoo and his students to carve the sand art.
