New Delhi: The Supreme Court-appointed amicus curiae Ranjit Kumar will visit Puri on February 22 and will hold discussion with all the stakeholders in the following day.
Later, he will prepare a detailed report and submit it o the Supreme Court during next hearing on February 26.
Senior lawyer and former Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar has been appointed as new amicus curiae in the case pertaining to reforms in the Sri Jagannath Temple, Puri.
The fresh appointment was necessitated following resignation of Gopal Subramanium as the Amicus Curiae.
Subramanium had stepped down from the post in December last year. In a letter to the apex court Registrar, Subramanium had stated that ‘due to certain unavoidable personal circumstances’ he would not able to continue as the Amicus Curiae in the matter.
On June 6 this year, the SC had appointed Gopal Subramanium in the matter concerning the reform measures in the centuries-old Srimandir.
