School van collides with JCB; 7 injured

Sambalpur: A school van carrying around 15 students rammed into a parked JCB machine Ambiranagar in Sambalpur Town today leaving seven students injured.

The injured who belong to St. Joseph School were rushed to the Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Later, two of them injured critically were shifted to a private hospital after their condition deteriorated.

The mishap occurred at around 7 am when the van was heading towards the school from Ambiranagar.

A student said that steering of the vehicle got jammed following which the van dashed into a JCB.

Meanwhile, the driver of the van fled the spot after the mishap. On being informed, police rushed to the spot and started investigation to establish the exact reason behind the mishap.
