Puri: The Sri Jagannath Temple Administration today clarified that it has not received any communication from the president’s office expressing displeasure over disrespect to President and his wife during their visit to Puri temple.
“The SJTA has received no communique from the Rashtrapati Bhawan regarding misbehavior to the First Lady in SriMandir; no need for further discussion on this matter,” said SJTA chief administrator Pradipta Mohapatra.
Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi also echoed similalr views. “The SJTA chief administrator has already clarified on the matter and there is no need to have any further discussion on the matter. We have not received any letter from President’s office.”
After the clarification of Mohapatra, Suar and Mahasuar Niyog lodged police complaint against Puri Collector Arvind Agrawal and former SJTA chief Pradipta Jena. The Niyog president Damodar Mahasuar lodged complaint at Singhadwar police station alleging that Collector and ex-SJTA chief had tarnished the image of servitors’ body.
Misbehaviour to president and his wife came to fore when the matter was discussed in the temple managing committee. The SJTA has also reportedly decided to serve show cause notice to three erring servitors.
The President’s office stated in a letter that breaching his tight security protocol, some servitors allegedly came close to the VVIP couple and pushed and nudged them.
Some servitors had allegedly blocked the way of Kovind when he was trying to offer prayers in the sanctum sanctorum.
