Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Tuesday warned the servitors of action if any ritual is delayed in the temple.
It was decided at a meeting of Temple Managing Committee presided over by Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingh Deb in presence of the SJTA chief administrator Pradipta Mahapatra.
SJTA chief PK Mahapatra said if any Palia sevayat delays the rituals, he will be debarred from the ‘Sadhibandha’ rituals. If he is found to have delayed the rituals thrice, he will be permanently debarred from the Palia service.
In a bid to streamline the rituals, it was also decided that ‘Sakala Dhupa’ and ‘Bhoga Mandap’ rituals will be conducted simultaneously in the morning.
The meeting also discussed about fixing rates for the abhada to be sold at Anand Bazar inside the temple premises. The Committee handed over the rate chart of the abhada to the Suara-Mahasuara Nijog. A final decision would be taken after the Nijog reviews the rate fixed by the Temple Managing Committee.
On the other hand, Garabadu Nijoga, a servitor body opposed the decision of the administration, terming the move partial. The administration didn’t consult the Chhattisha Nijog before taking a final call, said Rajat Pratihari, secretary of Garabadu Nijoga.
