Bhubaneswar: Police today arrested the husband of Tanuja Aich, the body of whom was recovered from a damaged car parked at Sriram Nagar area here on Monday.
Her husband identified as Sangram Aich was absconding since the incident. He was arrested from Kolkata and brought to Bhubaneswar on transit remand. His five-year-old son was rescued.
Details regarding the death of the woman will be known only after interrogation, police said.
Yesterday Tanuja’s post-mortem report confired that injury on head led to his death.
Tanuja was a resident of Mangalpur in Jajpur district. She was staying with her husband in Dhauli police station area.
Investigation revealed that Tanuja and her husband Sangram Aich used to quarrel. They have appeared before the police several times in the past, police said.
A relative of deceased woman alleged that Sangram killed Tanuja for dowry.
After allegedly strangulating the woman inside the vehicle, Sangram had hit the vehicle to give the impression that she died in an accident, the police said.
Some local people in the morning had found the unidentified woman lying near the drivers seat inside the car and informed the police.
