Top Maoist leader Alikh Chakraborty arrested in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A wanted Maoist was arrested in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

The politburo member of Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Red Star, Alik Chakraborty was arrested by the police in Bhubaneswar during a joint raid of Odisha and West Bengal police. The CPI (ML) member was held from a private hospital here where he was undergoing treatment for past few days.

Chakraborty, who carried out subversive activities in West Bengal, is a wanted in West Bengal.

Police are now investigating that how he reached Bhubaneswar and got him admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

Further investigation is on in the case.
