Twin-city turns fortress for Modi’s visit

Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: The Cuttack-Bhubaneswar twin city will turned into a fortress virtually tomorrow for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the State.

As many as 100 platoons of forces will be deployed in the twin city. 75 platoons will take care of Prime Minister’s security in Cuttack where Modi will address a huge gathering at BaliJatra ground.

This apart, five teams of special tactical unit, two bomb disposal squads, two ODRAF teams and five teams of special action force will be mobilised for the security.

The entire security arrangements will be monitored by twin city Commissioner YB Khurania and Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh. Besides, three more senior IPS officers have been entrusted with the job of security review in Cuttack.

The rally venue will come under complete CCTV surveillance. No water bottle, water pouches and bags will be allowed to the meeting place. Elaborate arrangements have also been made to ensure smooth traffic, said police.

Modi will address a mega rally, marking 4th anniversary of his government.

Modi will land at Bhubaneswar airport at 3.25 pm from where he will directly fly to Cuttack and land at a makeshift helipad at Mahanadi river bed near Balijatra ground.

After the meeting, he will return to Bhubaneswar airport on the same route and fly back to Delhi on the same day.
