After a brief lull, the cold wave is set to intensify from the 4th, with night temperatures expected to fall 2‑4 °C.
The Meteorological Centre says minima will hover between 13‑15 °C on the 2nd and 3rd, while coastal districts may stay at 15 °C or higher.
Dense fog is forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, especially in Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Koraput and Angul. The lowest night reading so far is 11.5 °C in Daringbadi; other stations recorded: G Udayagiri 12.4 °C, Jharsuguda 13.7 °C, Boudh 13.8 °C, Keonjhar and Phulbani 14 °C, Rourkela 14.5 °C, Dhenkanal and Angul 14.6 °C, Cuttack 15 °C, Bolangir 15.2 °C, Sundargarh 15.4 °C, Nuapada and Nabarangpur 15.5 °C. Several places are above normal, with Titilagarh +4.2 °C and Bolangir +2.6 °C.
