A tragic electrocution incident in Ranjagol village under Hindol police station in Dhenkanal district has claimed two lives. The deceased have been identified as Manisha Dehuri (40) and Ranju Dehuri (38).
The incident occurred around 2 AM yesterday while family members were asleep. Manisha accidentally got electrocuted in the middle of the night. When Ranju rushed to save her, she was electrocuted as well. A relative, aunt, who was sleeping in the same place, was also injured in the mishap.
All the victims were initially rushed to the Khajuriakata Primary Health Center. Manisha and Ranju were later shifted to the Hindol Group Health Center, where doctors declared them dead. Meanwhile, their son is currently undergoing medical treatment at the Khajuriakata Health Centre.
The local police have initiated an investigation into the incident, which has cast a profound shadow of mourning over the entire village.
