Odisha Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena has issued a clarion call to citizens: ditch petrol and diesel for Electric Vehicles (EVs). Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for environmental and financial sustainability, the state has extended EV subsidies until 2028 to accelerate adoption.

The Minister isn’t just talking the talk—he’s leading by example. Emulating the PM’s move to slash his convoy size, Jena announced he will now use only one pilot vehicle instead of three. In a bold move to connect with the public, he also pledged to travel via government buses like a common citizen.

Key Highlights:

Extended Incentives: EV subsidies now active until 2028.

Austerity Measures: 50% reduction in leadership convoys to save fuel.

New Mantra: "Simple living, conscious travel."

This shift signals a new era of "conscious governance," prioritizing green energy over traditional VIP perks.
