The results for the Nuapada Assembly by-election will be announced today, Friday, with the counting of votes set to begin at 8 am.
The by-poll, held on November 11th, witnessed a record 83.45 percent voter turnout, reflecting high public interest. The fate of 14 candidates will be decided, following a fierce three-way battle between the BJD's Snehangini Chhuria, BJP's Jai Dholakia, and Congress's Ghaziram Majhi.
Counting will take place at the Nuapada National College, across 14 tables and over 26 rounds. EVMs will be opened at 8:30 am after the initial postal ballot count. A three-tier security arrangement, including Central security teams, has been deployed to ensure a smooth process under the supervision of the Returning Officer.
The outcome is eagerly awaited by the state's political parties.
