A devastating accident occurred near Sunabeda Traffic Chowk on National Highway 26 in Koraput district, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. The incident took place late Saturday night when two cars collided head-on near the Sunabeda Police Station Hall Guest House.
According to sources, a Celerio car and a Safari car were involved in the accident, with the collision resulting in instantaneous fatalities.
Three people died on the spot, while one person succumbed to injuries while being taken to the hospital.
One person is currently undergoing treatment at the SLN Medical College and Hospital at Koraput.
The police have reached the accident spot, seized the cars involved, and initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
Both vehicles have been seized for further examination.
The deceased have been identified as Vikash Patra, Dibya Ranjan Rana, and Ashutosh Patra, all residents of Sunabeda town in Koraput.
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, with investigations ongoing.
