16,000 students write CBSE Class XII examinations in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The annual Class-XII examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) began today with 16,000 students appearing for English paper in Odisha.

A total of 12,08,359 students are appearing for Class XII at 4,974 examination centres across the country, out of which 7,48,498 are boys and 5,38,861 girls.

The exam began at 10.30 am and will continue 1.30 pm. However, students need to enter the CBSE examination hall by 10 am and question papers will be distributed at 10:15, giving 15 minutes of reading time.

Students are strictly advised not to carry cellphones, wallets, purses, chits or pieces of paper, old question papers and electronic gadgets to examination centres.

While the exam for the Class XII core subjects started from today, the CBSE Class X exam for core subjects is scheduled from March 5.
