In an further developement to the case of Jharkhand student death in a private college in Bhubaneswar,  DCP Prateek Singh clarified that the student didn't die due to ragging, it is suspected as suicide for personal affair which is the cause of student's death.

The body of the deceased student is identified as Abhisekh Ravi.

Abhishek was admitted to a private college in Khandagiri on September 10. He allegedly died falling from the rooftop of the hostel building just after three days of his admission, which is September 13.

A case of unnatural death was registered at the Khandagiri  PS after the incident, said police.

To a further extent to the case, Bhubaneswar's DCP Prateek Singh said," Police took all such cases seriously and an investigation is being done as per law".

"It is not a case of ragging as all in the hostel were first-year students. The deceased student's roommates were also from Jharkhand," he added.

However, as soon as the student was found lying on the floor, the medical team on the college campus shifted him to the hospital.

At the same time, the matter was informed to the police.

The post-mortem examination was carried out  in AIIMS  Bhubaneswar.

However, as it was just three days of Abhishek in college, from the current scenario it seems the death of the student is a personal affair, and it has nothing to do with ragging and college administration.
