Bhubaneswar: The members of BJP Yuva Morcha- that was staging a protest rally against alleged anti-youth policy of Government -clashed with police forces near PMG square. The BJP workers locked in a bitter scuffle with security forces, who were trying to stop them on their way to Odisha Assembly.
As per its earlier decision, the Yuva Morcha took out a rally from its office to the Assembly in protest against the government apathetic approach toward the youths and employment.
Some activists broke the barricade to reach the Assembly. They scuffled with police when the former resisted them from moving forward. The leaders of the Yuva Morcha were taken to preventive custody.
Some activists also sustained injuries in the face off. The PMG square in the Capital city turned into a virtual battle ground for quite some time.
“The Naveen Patnaik-led government has utterly failed to give jobs to the educated youths. The faulty policies of the government have forced several youths to migrate to other State. We want this government to go immediately”, an activist said.
The government engaged the police forces who thrashed the activists on the road. Many of the protesters were injured in police attack, an activist alleged.
