Bhubaneswar: Continuing his attack on chief minister Naveen Patnaik, former Minister and veteran MLA Damodar Rout today once again targeted the BJD president over the India Today survey, which found that Patnaik is still popular among people of Odisha.
“He (Naveen) has not learnt Odia for last 20 years. How he became the number one chief minister. When a rickshaw puller from Kakinada can speak Odia in broken form within a span of four months, Naveen, being the son of Biju Babu, is yet to speak in Odia”, he said.
The survey report may appease the party supporters and residents of Bhubaneswar. But Common man’s life would be spoilt if they believe it, Rout added.
There is nothing more shame for Naveen as he delivers speech in Odia by reading out a document which is scripted in English.
Raising the SRL example, Rout cropped up the graft matter again. He said soil is being sold to farmers in the name of fertilizer. Massive financial irregularities have occurred in the name of purchasing agriculture equipment, he alleged.
The government can acquire the Krushi Karman award by presenting statistics.
