Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Friday issued directives to all the schools, including public and privately managed institutes to conduct morning classes from April 2.
Morning classes in all schools have been rescheduled between 6:30 am and 10:30 am in the wake up rising temperature.
The School and Mass Education department today issued a letter to district level education officials to this effect.
The mid day meals (MDM) will be served at 10 am and in no case the school shall remain open beyond 11.00 am, the notification read.
The academic session for the year will start from April 3, the letter stated.
“All the school assessment, including examination and exercise may be completed by March 3 and provision of drinking water and first aid must be made at examination centres,” the release suggested.
The notification instructed that a provision of drinking water in the schools should be made where tube wells are not available and directed the students to bring umbrellas and water bottles to the school during the summer.
“The summer vacation will start from May 4,” the statement added.
