Cuttack: Ayushi Mohapatra topped the Odisha Civil Services examination, result of which was declared on Wednesday.
On the basis of the written test and interview, a total 106 candidates have been qualified for category-1 and 2 services.
Ayushi Mohapatra, a student of Mechanical engineering emerged topper while Sanchita Mohapatra became second and Punam Mohapatra has bagged the third position.
Topper Ayushi said hard work and self confidence was a boost for her to achieve the prestigious post. “This apart, continuous inspiration of parents and family members helped me cracking the civil service. I was confident of clearing the final round, but had never expected to get the top position. So, I am very happy for the blessings of God”, Mohapatra said.
Ayushi has aspired to do something in education sector. “If I get a chance to serve in education sector, I would definitely give my best to streamline the education system. My second preference is the Health department,” she added.
Mohapatra, who is also trying hard to get into the Indian Civil Services, advised the aspiring candidates especially the engineering and medical students to do proper time management and concentration while preparing for civil services, JEE and other competitive examinations, which can help anyone covering any course.
Her parents thanked the almighty for daughter’s success. “We had trust on her and belief on God as a strong believer of God. We were confident that her dedication and hard labour would not go in vain”, her mother said.
Five women found place among top 10 candidates. Similarly, out of total 106 successful candidates, 42 are women.
Prabhati Jhodia is the first from Jhodia community who cleared the Odisha civil services. A resident of Tikiri of Kashipur in Rayagada district, Prabhati got 76th rank.
