Baripada: Lashing out at BJD-led Odisha government for taking insensitive approach towards women security, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reprimanded the State investigating system for failing to provide justice to Pipili gang-rape and murder victim.
Addressing a mega rally in Baripada, Modi said the faulty investigation in State has made the accused freed in the gang-rape of a dalit girl in Puri, which took place seven-eight years ago. “It is evident from this, how sensitive is this government towards women security? I urge this government to re-initiate inquiry to ensure the justice for the victim”, he said.
As the victim didn’t get justice, anger in the minds of women is quite obvious, he added.
The government in Odisha is not sensitive towards women welfare programmes. In every filed beginning from health, education, security to their employment and empowerment, Odisha government is lagging behind in all fronts, Modi maintained.
The Prime Minister also hit out at the State government for not accepting Centre’s Ayushman Yojana. He said lakhs of people are getting health benefit from the scheme, but in Odisha, people are deprived of the benefit because Odisha government’s apathy. “I appeal the State to accept it and help people getting benefit”, Modi said.
He also didn’t spare the Congress party which accused the Modi-led government of doing irregularities in Rafale deal. Modi lambasted the grand old party saying that they want the Choukidar to go, otherwise all the black activities of their leaders and party would be exposed, Modi pointed out. “Thieves always want ouster of Choukidar. People know everything and they will give a befitting reply to them”, the PM said.
“We are committed to safeguard the national security. Therefore we are taking bold decision for the nation’s cause”, he added.
