Bhawanipatna: All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi today promised to waive off farm loan, Rs 2600 Minimum Support Price of Paddy and minimum income guarantee to the youths, if his party is voted to power in the upcoming election.
Addressing party’s Paribartan Sankalp Samabesh in Bhawanipatna, Gandhi came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Naveen Patnaik for their anti-tribal approach and showing undue favour to industrialists.
He said his family relation with the people of Kalahandi is very old. Indira Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi, Manmohan Singh had always been giving priorities to the Kalahandi district. Now, Narendra Modi government has scrapped the policies and schemes meant for tribal development. Both Naveen Patnaik in State and Narendra Modi in Centre are running government for industrialists, he said.
“Modi government has announced to give Rs 17 to each farmers’ family, which his party termed as historic. But, Modi had already given Rs 3.5 lakh crore to industrialists in last four years. If Congress is elected to power, we will waive off farm loan only two hours after the swearing-in ceremony. We have hiked the MSP of paddy to Rs 2500 in Chhattisgarh. But, here in Odisha, we will give Rs 2600 as MSP per quintal of paddy”, Gandhi announced.
Besides, he also promised to give minimum income to every youth of the State. “Modi and Naveen have taken away your land, forest and water. But in return, there are no employment opportunities. Youths are migrating to other States in search of job. But, we promised to give you minimum income for which we have started working on that”, Gandhi.
Reiterating his previous version that Naveen is remote controlled by Narendra Modi in Centre, the Congress president urged the people to vote for Congress. “Choukidar (PM Modi) is Chor and Naveen Patnaik is remote Control.
“While Naveen Patnaik gifted chit fund scam, PM Modi gifted Rafale scam. Congress guarantees a minimum income for the poor people & money will be directly credited to their accounts”, Rahul Gandhi added.
