Titli impact: Train services between Khurda Road & Vizianagaram suspended; Indigo cancels 5 flights

Bhubaneswar: In view of severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ which is expected to make landfall tomorrow morning, the Railways decided to restrict train services between Khurda Road and Vizianagaram route from both side after 10 pm on Wednesday, till further advice.

Some trains have been rescheduled while some have been diverted.

Chief PRO of East Coast Railway Jyoti Prakash Mishra said Mumbai-Bhubaneswar Konark Express and Tirupati-Puri express have been stationed at Visakhapatnam. Similarly, Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Konark Express and Puri-Tirupati express will leave from Visakhapatnam instead of Bhubaneswar and Puri respectively tomorrow morning.

UP Trains from Howrah/Kharagpur side (Trains supposed to go South direction) will not be allowed in ECoR jurisdiction, i.e., from Bhadrak after 1715hrs (05.15p.m.) on 10.10.2018, till further advice.

Down Trains from Hyderabad/Visakhapatnam side (Trains supposed to go North directions) will not be allowed from Duvvada (Visakhapatnam) after 1840hrs (06.40p.m.) on 10.10.2018, till further advice

Long distance trains supposed to pass Khurda Road and Vizianagaram, i.e. in Howrah-Chennai Main Line may be diverted via Nagpur –Balharshah- Vijayawada directions, if feasible. Some trains may be cancelled/partially cancelled as per the situation.

In view of consistent rain from morning at Puri, the Railways department has rescheduled some trains like-

Puri-Jodhpur Express (20813) from Puri on 10.10.2018 will leave at 1945hrs instead of 1555hrs

Puri-Ahmedabad Express (18405) from Puri will leave at 2125hrs instead of 1820hrs on 10.10.2018.

Puri-Durg Express (18425) from Puri will leave at 2330hrs (11.30pm) instead of 1830 hrs (06.30 am) on Wednesday (10.10.2018).

Puri-Howrah Garib Rath Express (12882) scheduled to leave Puri at 2210hrs (10.10 pm) on Wednesday (10.10.2018) will leave at 0500hrs (05.00a.m.) on Thursday (11.10.2018).

The group D railway examination scheduled to be held on October 11 and 12 have been cancelled due to cyclone prediction. Railways also issued toll free help line nos- 8455885936, 0674-2301525, 2301625.

Similarly, private airlines Indigo has cancelled its flight services from Bhubaneswar to several other cities due to inclement weather. Five planes scheduled to leave tomorrow from Bhubaneswar to Bengaluru, New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai have been canceled.
