New Delhi/ Bhubaneswar: As the cyclonic storm Titli is moving fast towards Odisha-Andhra coast, Union Minister of Earth Sciences , Dr. Harsh Vardhan has taken an urgent review of the developing scenario of cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ over the Bay of Bengal.
Cyclone Titli is expected to intensify further into a Severe Cyclonic Storm in few hours and cross east coast between Kalingapatnam (north Andhra Pradesh) and Gopalpur (south Odisha) at 5.30 am tomorrow. Squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph to 65 kmph is likely to commence along and off along north Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal coast from tonight. The winds are likely to increase to 100-100 kmph gusting to 125 kmph from today evening.
The IMD has also warned of heavy rain in West Bengal and north Andhra Pradesh. The Odisha government has announced the closure of all schools and colleges from today in four districts Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur as a precautionary measure against Cyclone in Odisha.
