A devastating loss has been reported at Nandankanan Zoo, where a white tiger cub has died after a prolonged illness. Born on November 2 to parents Rupa and Krishna, the cub was just seven months old when it succumbed to its condition on Monday.
The cub had developed a wound on its leg in March and was undergoing treatment since then. Despite the best efforts of the zoo's veterinary team, the cub's condition couldn't be improved, leading to its untimely death.
Rupa, a 6-year-old female white tiger, had given birth to four cubs in her third pregnancy. The loss of the cub is a significant setback for the zoo's conservation efforts.
