The Odisha Vigilance department has launched simultaneous raids at four locations linked to Jagannath Patnaik, Executive Engineer of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets.
Locations Under Raid:
- Bhubaneswar: A three-storeyed residence at Plot No. RP-12, Badagada
- Khordha: A farmhouse at Mouza Ranapur under Balianta Tahasil
- Rayagada: Ancestral house at Jangam Street, Gunupur
- BMC Office: Official chamber in Bhubaneswar
- The operation is being carried out by a team of 6 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 10 Inspectors, and other supporting staff.
- The raids started early morning, with the team examining property documents, bank accounts, lockers, and other relevant financial records.
- Valuation of properties is also underway to assess the actual worth of assets held by Patnaik.
- The raids are part of a wider investigation into Patnaik's accumulation of wealth, which appears inconsistent with his known sources of income.
