To ensure a hassle-free and environmentally friendly journey for the lakhs of devotees attending the Rath Yatra of Shri Jagannath, the Transport Commissioner has announced that 1000 buses will ply to Puri for the occasion. This decision was made after a meeting with the private bus owners' association, where various arrangements were discussed to facilitate convenient travel.
Key Arrangements:
- Bus Parking: Designated parking areas have been set up at Talbonia and Maltipatpur in Puri to manage the large influx of buses.
- Battery-Powered Vehicles: Special arrangements have been made for battery-powered vehicles to transport passengers from the bus stands to the Rath Yatra venue, promoting eco-friendly travel.
- Fare Regulation: To prevent overcharging, vehicle owners are strictly prohibited from charging more than the prescribed fare.
