A joint team of excise and police officials busted a brown sugar trading racket again at Haladipadia slum in Bhubaneswar.
Acting on a tip off, the team raided a house at the slum under Laxmisagar police limits and arrested two persons after seizing brown sugar weighing 36.65 gms worth around Rs 3 lakh.
The accused have been identified as Pradip Pradhan (24) and Rabindra Pradhan alias Babu (19). Both are the residents of the same locality. The raiding team also seized a motorcycle from them.
Three days ago, the excise officials had seized the contraband items wroth Rs 3 lakh from the same slum area.
Similarly, a woman and her son were arrested on June 27 with nearly 14 gms of brown sugar from the same area.
