Bhubaneswar: Senior BJD leader and former Minister, who has been on the eye of storm for last few days for raising various scams in government has softened his tone today towards his party-led government and flayed the Opposition parties for failing to expose the corruption.
The interesting part of his remarks he made today is sincere appreciation to BJD president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik.
“I have never uttered a single word against chief minister or the party. I only raised voice against corruption, which the Opposition parties are supposed to do,” Rout said.
“Naveen Patnaik is a good human being as well as a writer and artist of international standard. He has more experience than any other chief ministers in India. He has a clean image. But, some of his subordinates are not doing their job properly and involved in irregularities,” Rout added.
Reiterating the sapling scam issue, he said “The officer involved in the sapling scam was suspended. He was reinstated and I was removed as a minister for taking action against him. This is very surprising,” Rout rued.
