DIG Asis Singh visits Kotia to identify land for police station

Jeypore: Even as the State government has initiated developmental works in disputed Kotia panchayat in Koraput district, south-west DIG Asis Singh today visited the dispute clusture of villages to identifiy land for construction of building for police station. Koraput SP also accompanied him.

The government has already introduced banking service and distributed construction workers’ ID cards to 118 labourers. Legal awareness meeting has also been organised in the panchayat where several loacal leaders and representatives were present.

Two days ago, the government started land demarcation work in Kotia for construction of buildings for different Government offices.

The government has also decided to set up a police station, hospital, high school and a cluster building to house different Government offices in the disputed panchayat.

After Andhra Pradesh Government launched ‘Janmabhoomi’ programme at Talaganjaipadar village six months back, the State Government officials, including the ministers, visited Kotia panchayat and reviewed the developmental works.
