Bhubaneswar: At a time, when commercial movies are ruling the roost in Odisha, a short Odia movie based on a comparison between natural and urban life is on its way to nation’s most coveted cine event-Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival scheduled for 20th February in Mumbai.
In its 15 minutes duration, the flick, titled ‘Few Miles Away’ directed by young and dynamic engineering boy Abhisek Swain made efforts to convince people about the essence of green environment for a healthy life and mind. The film has juxtaposed with city and nature, clean and polluted environment.
It clearly shows how life is forced to be confined in a concrete forest amid hectic schedules in day to day affair.
The movie cleared the first round of selection for the event. If things go well, it would take part in the international fete, said Abhisek, who had earlier come out with flying colour with his previous project ‘Life Drop’ in Human Rights Short Film Festival held in Dhaka.
“Few Miles Away’ has clicked the first round in cinematography and sound effect category. I am optimistic of getting into the final round for taking part in the internal event. Because, the same movie had left behind 15,000 flicks in the ‘In-short Film Fest in Nigeria last year,” he added.
Actress Namasya Nayak and child artist Debasmita Senapati played the protagonist while Chitta Nanda assisted them as a co-actor.
