Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday flagged off KALIA Raths which will go to all Panchayats across the State in a bid to create awareness among the people about the scheme.
A total of 150 vehicles will move across rural areas to create awareness on different aspects of the scheme through audiovisual and folk art media.
Patnaik flagged off the at least 20 Raths at the Naveen Niwas here. On January 25, Patnaik recently launched the much-hyped Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation scheme for marginal, small, sharecroppers and landless farmers.
The scheme targets to cover 92 per cent of small and marginal cultivators and landless farmers to provide them financial, livelihood and cultivation support.
The Government is providing financial assistance of Rs 25,000 for agricultural and livelihood activities. Apart from this KALIA also assures interest-free crop loan up to Rs 50,000 and life insurance support to the farmers.
Meanwhile, financial assistance of Rs 5,000 is being credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries directly.
