Bhubaneswar: With an aim to sensitise people and communities against incidents of sexual assaults on minor girls and women, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today flagged off State-wide mega awareness campaign titled ‘Paree Pain Katha Tie’ in presence of DGP RP Sharma and other dignitaries in Bhubaneswar.
He launched 15 specially designed vans titled ‘Paree Express’ which will cover 30 districts of the State. The campaign will culminate on June 12 at Bhubaneswar.
All the vans have been equipped with LCD screen and projectors which will play audio-video on women safety. During every halt, Paree Express will meet people and hold cultural events on awareness.
Odisha police in association with UNICEF has taken such initiative. Police officials have been trained to conduct the awareness campaign in district level.
The campaign will be supervised by DGP RP Sharma while IG Asit Panigrahi was appointed as the nodal officer to coordinate and monitor the campaign.
