Passenger train travels for 5 km leaving behind 3 bogies

Puri: Passengers travelling in the Puri-Cuttack Passenger train had anxious moments today when three bogies of the locomotive were left behind after they got detached from the engine at Puri station.

After running around 5 km, the loco-pilot came to know about the incident soon and drove the engine back to get the three coaches.

A passenger scheduled to get down at Lingaraj station in Bhubaneswar was in the last bogie of the train. He first noticed that the train left the station leaving behind these coaches.

He informed the railway officials who directed the loco pilot to come back.

The train which was scheduled to leave the station at 8 am ran late by 30 minutes.

Puri station officials refused to comment on the matter.
