Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely open the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar in the month of May.
Although the dates of the PM’s visit have yet to be firmed up, sources said the PM is most likely to visit Odisha in the first week of May.
During the visit, the PM will inaugurate the Administrative building of the IIT too.
Earlier, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar authorities announced to shift its entire set-up to its permanent campus at Argul on the outskirts of the city by 2019.
Initially, the IIT functioned from two sites in Bhubaneswar. While the administrative block functioned from Toshali Bhavan at Satya Nagar, it had an also workshop at Samantpur. The hostel and other schools function from its permanent campus at Argul.
The first batch of students of IIT, Bhubaneswar, started their academic activities on the campus of IIT Kharagpur, the mentor institute of the IIT, Bhubaneswar.
The institute will have facilities for 2,500 students, 250 faculty members and 275 support staff.
