The results of Odisha's student union elections are rolling out, with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) leading overall, followed by the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) in second place, while the Chhatra Congress struggles.
BCJD has captured high-profile wins at major institutions. At Ravenshaw University, BCJD's Biswajit Sahu defeated ABVP's Arabinda Rath for the presidency, while Sonali Behera secured the presidential post at Rama Devi Women's University.
Meanwhile, the ABVP has established a strong presence, sweeping victories at Berhampur University—where Kirtibanta Rana won as President and Rojalin Mohanty as Secretary—along with dominant wins at Bhubaneswar's Buxi Jagabandhu Autonomous College (electing Aryan Mahapatra as President) and Rajdhani College (with Abinash Padhi as President). Additionally, independent candidate Prajna Paramita Nayak bagged the presidency at Cuttack's Sailabala Women's College.
