The Rice Exporters Association, Chhattisgarh, and Visakhapatnam Port Authority jointly organised the "Chawal Samriddhi 2024" event in Raipur.
The event discussed, connecting Chhattisgarh's Raipur Dry Port directly to Visakhapatnam Port, which would enable the state's export figures to be recorded with the Indian government and benefit the state through exports.
Chhattisgarh Pradesh Rice Mill Association President Yogesh Agarwal suggested zero mandi tax on rice exports to promote exports from the state.
Mukesh Jain, President of The Rice Exporters Association, Chhattisgarh, proposed establishing a Director-General of Foreign Trade Office in the state, benefiting farmers, millers and exporters directly.
The event was attended by Rajat Kumar, Industry Secretary, Government of Chhattisgarh, Durgesh Kumar Dubey, Deputy Chairman, Visakhapatnam Port Authority, and G. Gayatri from Container Corporation.
