The diarrhea outbreak in Odisha has spread to new areas, with cases reported in Cuttack and Kendrapara districts. Meanwhile, Jajpur district, which was earlier affected, is showing signs of improvement with a decrease in new cases.


Current Situation

- Jajpur: Two more deaths have been reported, but the number of new patients has decreased according to the Health Department.

- Kendrapara: One suspected death due to diarrhea has been reported, but confirmation is awaited.

- Cuttack: 35 cases of diarrhea have been reported in Gholapur village of Banki, with a medical team deployed to investigate and contain the outbreak.


Response and Precautions

- Medical Team: Deployed in affected areas to provide treatment and investigate the cause of the outbreak.

- Water Supply: Tankers are being used to supply water to villagers in Gholapur to prevent further spread of the disease.
