Ahead of the State Assembly’s budget session starting tomorrow, Police Commissioner S. Devdutt Singh has enforced a massive security blanket over the capital. The session, running in two phases from February 17 to April 8, will feature elite Black Commandos and a specialized Tactical Unit for the first time.
The Commissionerate Police has implemented a rigorous three-tier security system including:
Force Strength: 34 platoons, 8 Additional DCPs, and 24 ACPs.
Specialized Units: Dog squads, fire fighters, and medical teams on standby.
Surveillance: Rooftop snipers and 24/7 CCTV monitoring by armed personnel.
With 110 SIs and 55 women constables also on duty, the CP confirmed that all entry points and high-rise perimeters are secured. The heightened vigilance aims to ensure a smooth legislative process amid potential protests or security threats.
