Traffic on National Highway 326 was severely disrupted on Wednesday following a major accident at Bhimdali Ghati under the Adwa police station in Gajapati district.
A truck loaded with iron rods traveling from Berhampur to Rayagada lost its balance and overturned right in the middle of the road.
The spill scattered iron rods across the asphalt, halting hundreds of passenger buses, trucks, and vehicles on both sides and leaving travelers stranded and distressed.
Prompt action by the Adwa police and fire brigade cleared the wreckage and removed the debris, working swiftly to restore normal traffic flow. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
