A daring midnight burglary shook Devanabahali village under Udala Sarata police station in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, with five armed miscreants allegedly looting cash and gold ornaments from the residence of Chandan Nayak and his brother Ranjan Nayak.

According to sources, yesterday at late night five miscreants broke into Chandan's house wielded two guns, targeted sleeping brothers.

The miscreants have looted Rs 15,000 cash; gold ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh.

Later, after looting from the house they absconded from the place keeping the house locked from outside. 

On being informed, Sarat police station received Nayak brothers' complaint and started an investigation into the matter.

The incident has unsettled residents of Devanabahali village, heightening concerns over night-time security in the area.
