Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a two-year extension of the 'Antyodaya Gruha Yojana' until 2029, aiming to provide permanent pucca houses for all vulnerable families.
The initiative will fund the construction of an additional 2,91,600 new houses within the existing budgetary allocation of ₹7,550 crore. To fast-track development, ₹3,500 crore previously earmarked for repairs will now be fully redirected toward new construction.
Furthermore, early-completion financial incentives have been significantly raised: beneficiaries finishing within 5 months will now receive ₹35,000 (up from ₹20,000), while those finishing within 7 months will get ₹20,000 (up from ₹10,000).
To ensure inclusive growth, poor families previously excluded from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will now be covered.
The Chief Minister has directed the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department to immediately survey and identify these new beneficiaries.
