The Odisha government has decided to organize a statewide awareness program to prevent illicit drug trafficking and abuse. The program, scheduled from May 31 to June 26, aims to educate people about the ill effects of drug abuse through various activities.
- Awareness Chariots: Will be deployed at district, sub-district, and block levels to spread awareness.
- Cultural Events: Pala, Dasakthiya, and Gatunacha performances will be organized to engage people.
- Essay Competitions: Will be held at school levels to encourage students to participate.
- Helpline: The 1933 helpline number and MANAS Portal will be promoted to report drug-related issues.
The programme aims to create a society free from illicit drug trafficking and abuse. Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan emphasized the importance of collective efforts to achieve this goal.
