President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his memorial 'Sadaiv Atal' in New Delhi on the occasion of his death anniversary.
Key Highlights of the Tribute
Apart from President Murmu and PM Modi, other leaders who paid tribute include Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers JP Nadda, Kiren Rijiju, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, JDU MP Sanjay Jha, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
In a post on social media platform 'X', PM Modi said Atal Bihari Vajpayee's dedication and service for India's progress will inspire everyone to build a developed and self-reliant India.
Rajnath Singh remembered Vajpayee for his lifelong efforts to build a strong and prosperous India, stating the country will always remember his exceptional contribution.
About Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Vajpayee served as Prime Minister three times and was the first non-Congress Prime Minister to complete a full term.
He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, in 2015.
Vajpayee died on August 16, 2018, at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi.
